The Passat ABS pump & module system has been a very common failure for a long time now, the problem usually starts with the ABS light coming on intermittently but then the problem becomes more constant.
If you try to diagnose the ABS fault using scan tools you will often find that the ABS module refuses to achieve communications. Because of this, other electronic modules in the vehicle may store fault codes for no communications to ABS.
Whilst the internal fault is present only standard braking will be available – you will have no emergency braking system activated.

ABS pump module removal:
We normally only ever need the electronic part of the ABS pump, this is attached to the side of the pump with six torx screws and can be removed easily. The best way to access the module is to first remove the passenger side front wheel and the inner wheel arch plastic liner, then the washer bottle can be unbolted and moved out of the way giving access to the six torx screws. Remember you can still drive the car with the module removed - you will have conventional braking but with no ABS function and the light will remain on until the remanufactured module is refitted.

Send us your package by tracked courier (the shipping instructions are on the confirmation email).
