When the Ford Explorer or Escape ABS light is illuminated this is an indication that the emergency braking system is not fully functional. The ABS pump and module can fail in a variety of ways, the ABS unit can suffer from internal defects which will cause fault codes to be stored for B1342 – ABS control module malfunction, and C0020 – Motor fault, these fault codes can often not be cleared. Other internal faults will frequently prevent communications to the ABS system, which can also be the reason for the Ford Escape/Explorer speedometer not working.
On occasion internal failures will prevent fluid from reaching one or more caliper, which causes a braking imbalance, making the vehicle undriveable, due to a reduction in emergency braking safety.
If you have an Explorer or Ford Escape B1342 fault code, a complete replacement for this ABS issue may be suggested, which will be incredibly expensive, and not the most cost effective solution to these problems, due to extra programming costs.
However, we provide a full test and rebuild of these Ford Escape and Explorer ABS modules within 2-3 working days, without the need for further programming, which means no more Explorer or Ford Escape ABS light illumination.
