This is a very common problem for all Mercedes Sprinter CDI’s built after 2006, the fault causes the engine to lose power intermittently causing the engine to run in limp mode.
Turning the engine off and allowing to cool before attempting a re-start will reset the fault, however the chance of resetting will decrease with time making this into a permanent malfunction.
