As a result of internal ECU failure, this fault typically begins intermittently before materialising into a permanent and unignorable issue. When diagnosing Mini Cooper misfire issues, you might uncover a plethora of fault codes depending on the exact ECU fitted to your vehicle. Don’t worry we’ve broken this down below.

You’ll likely have considered a complete replacement of the Mini Cooper ECU when attempting to repair these issues. However, this isn’t always the most cost-effective solution. It’s also worth noting that brand-new units still carry the original malfunction. Instead, we’ve got a better solution.

Mini Cooper ECU: Repair or Rebuild?

We propose a complete rebuild of your Mini Cooper ECU to combat misfiring. This is better than a repair as we’ll completely rework your unit internally, which eliminates the fault at its root and prevents future failure.

Common fault codes:

MEVD17.2.7

You may also find codes relating to ‘combustion misfire and fuel injection’ – indicating the ECU has detected abnormal combustion activity.

Variations:

  • MEVD1727
  • SG-MEVD17-27

Hi there, I have a 2017 Mini Cooper S that is experiencing random misfires across all cylinders. I cant see that you offer a service to rebuild this ECU, so can you confirm that you offer a rebuild for this model please. Furthermore, I live near Matlock and I wondered if I could drop my ECU in with you directly rather than posting it? Thanks for your help. Josh
