Corsa D ECU repair – No communication with engine ECU solved.

GMPTHSOC & GMPTH engine ECU

The ACDelco E83 and ACDelco E78 engine ECUs are commonly known to fail, causing your Vauxhall Corsa D to develop several faults that affect its reliability. This failure can lead to a loss of communication with the engine ECU, making it difficult and sometimes impossible to diagnose the problem with diagnostic equipment. In this case, your vehicle will store the code “U0100: No communication with engine ECU”, which will indicate your Corsa D’s ECU needs to be repaired.

Coupled with the "no communication with engine ECU" fault, your Corsa may also struggle to start. While this non start issue may occur intermittently at first, chances are it’ll worsen unless resolved. On top of that, you’ll likely experience symptoms such as the engine cutting out, car entering limp mode, and the engine management light being on.

What causes the ‘no communication with engine ECU’ fault?

A loss of communication with the engine ECU typically stems from internal component failures within the ECU that prevent the activation of the main relay. When the main relay is not activated, your Corsa will not power up and unless the ECU is repaired, these faults will constantly reoccur.

When your E83 and E78 ECUs malfunctions, you have two options.

First, you can buy a brand-new ECU from the manufacturer. This option has several downsides like exorbitant prices, extra coding costs, long wait times, and limited warranties. Sadly, a brand-new ECU will also come with the same internal defects that caused the failure in the first place.

A second and more beneficial option would be a repair of your ECU. With this option, you can have your faulty Corsa D ECU tested and repaired in 2-3 three working days. We do this using better-than-OEM-standard components at a fraction of the cost of a new one and fully re-build the unit. This option comes with a lifetime warranty and no need for coding the ECU back to the vehicle.

The second option is your best bet.
