Common Faults:

The Mercedes E-Class automatic with the CVT gearbox can be very problematic. When an internal malfunction occurs, it can cause the gearbox to go straight into limp mode when put into drive, with warning lights showing on the instrument panel. Common fault codes often found are: 0896 - Impermissible Adjustment Of The Step Down Ratio In The Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT), 0793 - The RPM Signal From Component Y3/9B4 (CVT (Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission) Secondary RPM Sensor) Is Not Available, 0722 - The RPM Signal From Component Y3/9B5 (CVT (Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission) Output rpm Sensor) Is Not Available, 0730 - The Gear Ratio In The Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT) Is Not Permissible, 1634 - Component Y3/9N1 (CVT (Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission) Control Unit) Is Defective Or The Voltage Supply Is Faulty (Under Voltage), 2722 - Impermissible Closing Of Hydraulic Brake 'Reverse Gear' Has Occurred In The Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT) When Selector Lever 'N' Was Engaged. WARNING! If you are sending your transmission module to be tested/repaired, please make sure you only send the plastic module. DO NOT send it still attached to the metal valve chest as this will destroy the module during transit. If I purchase this will it cure my fault?

REBUILD DETAILS

Rebuild details (“Get Yours Rebuilt”): Professional level diagnostic equipment and/or specialist knowledge may be required when reinstalling, clearing of fault codes and professional diagnostic checks should be carried out following installation. In order to get your unit rebuilt you will need to remove the faulty unit from the vehicle and send it to us, we would then test the unit and if it is faulty we would rebuild it then return it to you with a Lifetime* warranty. When you complete payment the unit will be automatically booked in to our workshop and you will receive full step by step instructions for sending the unit to us, you will also be able to track the progress of the unit at every stage using the “Track Your Part” link located at the top of most pages of our website. If the unit turns out not to be faulty then we would refund your payment and just charge a test fee of $70 + return shipping. Please make sure you check the part numbers on the unit match the rebuild service you are purchasing. Not all parts can be repaired. If the part is not repairable, we will refund your payment and ship it back to you. If you send in an item that does not match the one in the description, we will contact you and try to rebuild it if requested. We recommend the following couriers when sending your unit to be rebuilt: DHL Express.

Turnaround time: 
The quoted turnaround is the estimated number of working days we will likely need your unit complete the work. It does not include shipping time, weekends or national holidays. In some instances it may take longer to complete your unit if we need to order parts or if your unit requires extended testing.

All original programming will be retained, no need to program anything once you receive the unit back. However In exceptional circumstances we may need to replace the software within your unit (if it is corrupt or causing problems) if this is the case then we will inform you of this before rebuilding the unit. Return Shipping: You will need to arrange your own shipping to get the unit sent to us, we recommend using DHL. Quoted shipping is for the return shipping via DHL Express Delivery shipping costs will be confirmed before payment completes.
